About Stacy
Hello!
I am Stacy Notestine. I am a registered nurse, yoga teacher, essential oils wellness advocate, reiki master, meditation teacher, sound therapy practitioner, health & wellness coach, inspirational speaker and....a COLON CANCER SURVIVOR!
In May of 2023 at the age of 54, during a routine colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer. I was running, teaching yoga, eating a clean healthy diet, and living my best life as a full time islander. The only symptom I had was a distinctive type of fatigue that prevented me from completing my runs. Needless to say, the diagnosis rocked my world and completely turned it upside down. The next steps in 2023 and 2024 included exemplary care at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, two surgeries, five rounds of chemotherapy, and many rounds of physical therapy. Not a journey I would wish on anyone, but thank goodness I made it to the other side! My priorities in life quickly became more clear and Sunshine Yoga & Wellness became a part of that. My mantra from the beginning has been I am whole and healed and I can officially say I am a CANCER SURVIVOR!
I fell in love with Kelleys Island when I started coming here in 2014. My dream to bring yoga and wellness to the island came to fruition when I moved here as a full time resident in May 2022. I started teaching KI Kid Yoga Club that fall and it grew as those in the community expressed an interest in adult yoga classes. 2 classes turned into teaching 5 classes per week.
After being given a clean bill of health in 2024, I decided to change my business name and create something brand new to reflect my current vision with health and wellness. Lake Erie Love Yoga & Wellness transformed into Sunshine Yoga & Wellness. The name and logo are full of radiance, joy, positivity, and fun. I really love it and hope you do too! We all need a little sunshine in our lives and that is what I hope to share with all of you through the practices of yoga, meditation, reiki, and sound therapy.
Much of my professional career has been spent as a nurse and lactation consultant. I have a private practice in Columbus, Ohio in which I help moms and babies when breastfeeding doesn’t always go as planned. I am an international speaker and published author in the Journal of Human Lactation. I am blessed to have a dual career, both of which I love and am passionate about!
I am excited about the yoga and wellness classes that I will be teaching this summer that includes gentle flowing body movement yoga to all ages. I will also be sharing other wellness modalities that are meant to help your body, mind, and spirit feel better, enhance your health and decrease stress. My hope is to inspire you to live a healthier lifestyle.
Come join me on this journey! I can’t wait to meet you!
